Everlast - What It's Like - Review
Written by Azlad

If you are still reading about how much I hate mainstream music, you are probably expecting me to rip this song to pieces. While in part you are right and that these people have yet to have a half decent song besides this one, I have a great deal of respect for this song. It is musically mediocre, in all aspects; the only thing that glorifies this song is the lyrics. If you sit down and listen to them for a second, the lead singer is obviously giving a big FUCK YOU to the entire smarmy little cunt emo kids out there. If there is one thing I hate equally as pop music, it is emo fuckers and everything they take away from society. Those stupid little fucks are the most ungrateful little kids in the world. Why don’t you see adult emo people outside of the emo band singers? Because all the emo kids are still living in their parents basement. They are virtually the Sloth (The Goonies) of the modern world. Surprisingly enough, this photo needed no obvious modification by me. How about that?

The truth is, I can’t say I like this song with all my heart, because the main stream media hating Nazi in me declares that this is treason. The only contradiction to this is the emo kid hating Nazi in me (My great grandparents were Fascists so it runs in the family). I guess it is kind of hypocritical of me to only like a song because it says Fuck You! to a certain group of people, since I am all about GOOD music, but I will pardon this song for now in an effort to maim the greater threats. These emo faggots are actively contributing to society every day by being ungrateful faggots (Sorry, they aren’t actually gay). Maybe that is just what I am missing; I’m not actively contributing to society enough… Drunk people gave the world Tasers, Emo kids gave the world Ungratefulness, and I shall give the world this website. A bane to the existence of anyone who wants to lead a life based on musical ignorance.

The point I am trying to make (and that the song is trying to make, in my eyes, which are law) is that these kids have never felt a day of uneasiness or really ever felt out of place. They have lead comfortable cushy lives and this disease rots at them from the inside. They strive for independence since they know they are just like everyone else, and they can’t get over that. The solution isn’t a psychiatrist or meds; it’s called getting a fucking clue.

Detour ended. I want to end on a note that isn’t a fucking tangent (New idea, just trying it out (Sarcasm)). The song doesn’t represent anything original, or anything that I find that makes it stand out enough to want to put it on my playlist, but it does have a message. I believe in that message and I think that this is respectable, and for now that will pardon this song from ever being on my shit list. Hey Fall Out Boy! You can go fuck yourself. I hope Ashlee (OMFG GREAT NAME SPELLING DOUCHE BAG) Simpson and that faggot bassist’s kid ends up being a mutant pop star.
